I am rewatching The Lion King 2 right now and there’s my favorite scene in the whole movie, when Kovu and Kiara interrupt the fight between Simba’s and Zira’s prides.

Kiara: “A wise king once told me ‘We are one’. I didn’t understand him then. Now I do.”
Simba: “But … they-”
Kiara: “They? Us. Look at them. They are us. What differences do you see?”

These words had a huge impact on me when I was a kid. And it keeps hitting a nerve whenever I watch it.
It’s so universal.

This scene is the reason because I love Lion King 2 almost more than part one.

Let’s keep this true. We are one.
