I was most surprised at the creation of the song ‘Hey You.’ It’s the second part to ‘If You Say So,’ a song about Cory [Monteith] on my first album. I initially didn’t want to write about topics that I wouldn’t feel comfortable talking about publicly. But this is such a huge part of who I am now. ‘Hey You’ has a hopeful aspect. It turned out to be one of my favorite songs.
