FYI, there’s a report on JustJared that Mark Salling has a court date on January 22, which is this Friday. I don’t have any idea where to look for details of what will happen then, but I’m sure it will be some kind of preliminary hearing, not the start of a full trial. We might find out exactly what he’s being charged with, whether the charges are state or federal, what kind of penalties he’ll be facing, etc. I don’t have any expertise on criminal law, so I don’t know if this would be the kind of hearing where he could accept a plea deal or whether that would come later, but it’s at least in the realm of possibility that he could plead guilty at this point if he’s chosen not to fight the charges and go to trial.
If you’re someone who wants to avoid hearing about the whole thing, make sure your blacklists are set up by Friday, because it’ll probably be making headlines again.
