Once I created a fan page I have gotten the question “why do you love One Tree Hill?” several times and usually it’s the same answer, but a little edited to make it less annoying and lengthy. But I wanted to give the full story behind why I love this little show. 🙂

One Tree Hill was never really a show that did well in ratings. It’s average was 1 million and it was always one of the last shows to get renewed each year. Yet, somehow, it made it to nine seasons! I believe this happened because of the heart it had. Many shows, especially now, don’t have a heart. They are more focused on how many love triangles, dick jokes and naked women they can fit in one episode. Not that there is anything wrong with that but that isn’t the show you are going to remember forever. And I know I definitely will remember One Tree Hill for the rest of my life because of how it stood out with it’s heart.

Sure, as much as we might dislike to admit it, this show was a straight up teen drama soap but it wasn’t just that. This show had some magic. It had a purpose, a real one that wanted to inspire people. To make believe believe in magic, love, and life. I’ve learned – and am continuing to learn – life lessons from watching.

This is the show that made me realize how important family and friends are. It taught me how to be strong, weak, vulnerable, courageous, kind, patient, caring…and how to be myself. It taught me that no matter how dark it seems, there is always a light and there is always a way to find it.

It taught me that everything will be okay and I can make it.

No other show I’ve watched – and trust me, I’ve watched a lot! – have ever had this affect on me. When I watch it, I feel a little less broken and a little more whole. I don’t feel alone.

And that, plus many more reasons, is why I love this show.

I will be forever thankful to Mark, the amazing cast, the amazing crew that made this show happen and brought it to life.

Thank you for making the show that has changed my life, and I’m sure many others.
