Safety First
“You’re joking, you just- you can’t be serious. You’re still trying to go after this guy after everything’s that happened?” Ravi watched Major struggle with getting his sneakers on and huffed again, “Don’t think I won’t call Liv.”
For someone so tiny invoking her name sure had an effect on Major that was clearly more than just being exes and Ravi quietly agreed with that hesitation given how protective Liv was of everyone around her.
Not that he would call her since she had so much on his plate, he was just hoping Major wouldn’t call his bluff.
“You’re bluffing.”
Damn.
“All right fine,” Ravi grabbed his shoes, slipping them on, “But I’m not letting you go alone, safety in numbers and all that.”
Plus he was actually enjoying this roommate thing.
Major grinned, like he was enjoying this and Ravi was going to grumble louder than he’d planned to in the car just for that.
“Suppose you’re going to want me to do up my seatbelt on the ride over too then?”
“Of course,” Ravi began snippily, “I’d rather not see either of us on my morgue table.”
“How would you see you on your morgue table?”
“It’s the principle of the thing.” Ravi sighed, “Now come on, let’s go get ourselves nearly killed.”
“You can stop pretending like you don’t enjoy this. It’s like a quest.” Major pointed out, opening the door and Ravi stepped through it.
“Yes except most of our quests come with a reset button and more than one life. Speaking of which I don’t see why we can’t just stay here and do that instead.”
Major clapped him on the shoulder after locking up, “That’s what makes this one so exciting. And righteous.”
“I can’t tell if that was seriousness or an 80’s slogan…” Ravi muttered but followed Major nonetheless.
He was, admittedly, having a little fun and this way could steer Major away from the whole zombie thing.
Besides, Liv was always on speed dial.
